We headed away from Paris for the day to spend some time strolling through Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny. Riotous explosions of flowers everywhere – so meticulously tended and gorgeous, whether you were looking at them from afar…
…or right up close.
Bees were at work everywhere.
The house felt like something out of a fairy tale – beautifully preserved and restored.
The walled off estate provided cozy roads for strolling.
But the lily ponds could just not be matched. You could see and feel the inspiration they provided.
It felt like we had stepped right in a painting…I had to blink a few times to be sure that that man tending the lilies in the pond from a rowboat was actually real!
